Centre Philosophy

We strive to provide the children with a comfortable, safe and friendly environment, where they feel safe, secure and supported in their surroundings.

We believe that all children have the right to be treated equally in an environment that respects and acknowledge each child as a unique individual regardless of their race, gender, culture, age or ability.

We value the children as capable and resourceful learners and encourage them to active contributors to their own learning through our curriculum.

We work with the children to develop their confidence, positive self-esteem and independence to help create an atmosphere full of fun and excitement.

We recognise that families are children’s first and most influential teachers. We believe that children benefit from a mutually supportive relationship between family and educators. We encourage families to work together with educators to get the best possible outcome for the children that attend our service.

We endeavour to build trusting and respectful relationships with our families that promote open communication. We invite families into our service to participate in our curriculum and to share ideas to enhance our service.

We believe that the children, families and educators form our own community, where different background, beliefs and traditions are valued and embraced.

At Prodigy Early Learning we look closely at The Reggio Emilia Approach for inspiration. This approach “values the children as strong, capable and resilient; rich with wonder and knowledge. Every child brings with them a deep curiosity and potential and this innate curiosity drive their interest to understand their world and their place within it.”

Together with this approach and the Early Years Learning Framework as a guide, we provide a curriculum that is flexible and always meets the needs and interests of the children, one that develops skills and extends on their interests and abilities supporting each stage of their life, forming a foundation for their future learning.

We empower the children by using their ideas and interests to develop the program and by collaborating with the children we are able to set realistic goals to achieve together, which are reflected in our daily curriculum.

We encourage social interactions within our curriculum to enhance awareness and
respect for cultural differences and similarities. We implement inclusive practices to positively support the children to feel like they belong.

We promote sustainable practices throughout our centre and provide natural environments for children to experience and explore. We use recycled materials where possible to play our part in a sustainable future.

Our daily routines are relaxed and flexible while offering uninterrupted play,
progressive meals, indoor and outdoor play and creative arts.

Prodigy Early Learning is committed to being a centre of excellence for early childhood education within our community. We endeavour to provide the highest quality of care for all children and families. We respect and appreciate Australia’s multicultural society.

We support services in the wider community such as community groups and specialists in the early childhood field.

We encourage early childhood and work experience students to take part in our day to day operations to pass on our knowledge and develop good practices for their future.
